Roy joined XT as a “second-time-around” ADI, having originally qualified in 2004 and was a successful ADI for many years in the Hereford area. He has been an IAM Advanced Driver since 1999 and is also trained to drive under blue light response conditions. Roy left the industry to pursue other interests and let his qualification lapse.
He requalified in 2019, trained by XT, and is an IAM Local Observer with Herefordshire Advanced Drivers. Roy teaches under 17’s off-road for a national company and since joining XT has completed a Level 3 First Aid Course, a coaching workshop, mock test training to fully understand how the driving test is conducted and assessed and Fuel-Efficient (Eco-Driving) train the trainer courses in both internal combustion-engined cars and electric vehicles as well as his initial evasive driving course covering skid pan training and high-speed manoeuvring.
He is currently completing training towards his RoSPA Gold, IAM National Observer, and PTLLS qualifications and in light of the current situation has also undertaken training in preventing COVID-19. Roy is a member of the DIA, the MSA, and the ADINJC as well as the local Hereford and Powys Driving Instructor Assocations.
