- Our training is currently in high demand due to our 100% success rate*.
- Due to this we no longer offer “rescue” training to PDIs who have chosen to go elsewhere and:
- we can no longer offer training to PDIs who don’t wish to commit to XT after qualifying. (We offer one of the most reasonable rates in the industry and initial training is discounted to reflect this.)
- Telephone 07491 462719 to discuss costs and options.*Our 100% success rate means that every PDI that has trained with us from start to finish has qualified. On occasion we have had PDIs that for personal reasons have decided not to continue which is outside of our control.

dedicated to your success
Every PDI that has trained with XT and stuck with it has qualified. We believe this is due to the level of training delivered by our highly qualified instructors, and the support offered by fellow XT ADIs and PDIs throughout the qualifying process. XT Instructors don’t compete with each other, but we support each other. Speak to any of our PDIs or ADIs for a free chat to find out for yourself.
At XT qualifying is not the end of the process, you’ll get support and advice for Standards Checks, Advanced driver training, first aid training, fleet training and of course learner driver training from trainers that have been DVSA examiners.

- It’s the first of 3 tests you have to pass to qualify as an ADI. It’s a theory test. There are 2 parts to the test:
- 100 multiple-choice questions
- hazard perception – a video test about spotting hazards on the road
You book and take them as a single test. You must pass both parts to pass the test.
- Once you’ve passed the theory test, you must pass the other parts of the test within 2 years or you’ll have to start the whole process again.
In the driving test you are required to demonstrate a “high competence” of driving ability. The test is an hour long and a maximum of six driver faults are allowed.
All our Part 2 test trainers hold Advanced Driving Qualifications at or above the Part 2 requirement.
- You’ll have to show the examiner all of the following:
- expert handling of the controls
- use of correct road procedure
- anticipation of the actions of other road users and then taking appropriate action
- sound judgement of distance, speed and timing
- consideration for the convenience and safety of other road users
- driving in an environmentally-friendly manner
- A Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) examiner will watch you give a client-centred driving lesson lasting about 45 minutes to one of your pupils.Your pupil must drive for at least 40 minutes of the lesson. At the start of the lesson, discuss the goals for the lesson and risk management with your pupil. Because of coronavirus (COVID-19), this should take no more than 3 minutes. At the end of the lesson, give your pupil no more than 3 minutes to reflect on their performance. The examiner will look for evidence that you meet the national standard for driver and rider training.

XT Part 2 trainers all hold advanced driving qualifications well above Part 2 standard. That’s probably why most of our Part 2 trainees pass first time. All Training is fully overseen by trainers who have attended the 5 week DVSA Examiners Training course , are Advanced Driving Examiners, and Grade A ADIs. There is no other local organisation that can boast this.
Part 3 Training
- 100% Success Rate
- Pay as you go or block booking
- Support from XT ADIs who have recently qualified
- Highly qualified trainers
- Training delivered to the National Standard
At XT our training does NOT consist of:
- Tying you in to a contract
- Not making the costs clear up front
- Long coffee breaks in Mcdonalds to waste your lesson time
- Not explaning the marking criteria or delivering training to the national standards
- Calling ourselves “Coaches”, pushing ‘coaching’ as the answer to ‘client-centred’ and
- Answering questions with questions and spending hours discussing “reflective” logs.
- Sitting in the back of a lesson or for a day and then delivering a list of feedback long after the lessons finished
